Plant Breeding for the Farmer by G. D. H. Bell, Ph.D. of the Plant Breeding Institute,
Cambridge
One way, and a potent one, of raising standards of agricultural production is by breeding improved varieties. Research in this country is being carried out on all our important food crops, and farmers are cultivating better varieties that have been introduced by plant breeders. Dr. Bell describes how this work is carried out.
