Readings from Shakespeare
'Twelfth Night'
This afternoon's reading from Twelfth Night will conclude the term's dramatic readings from Shakespeare. As a proof of their popularity, a striking incident has come to hand. In one school alone, the Forum Scene from Julius Caesar was acted in the morning to an audience of a hundred and forty children; in the afternoon, all of them listened to the broadcast, and in the evening ninety of them went to the performance at the local theatre. Next term the dramatic readings will be from the two comedies, The Merchant of Venice and The Taming of the Shrew.
