Pebble Mill: the Indie Awards

on BBC One London

Independent production companies are now responsible for 25 per cent of British TV output, but their names are largely unrecognised by the viewing public. This awards ceremony should set the record straight.

"Independent companies have to be sharp and inventive, says presenter Robert Kilroy-Silk, himself an independent producer. "If you can't come up with good ideas at competitive price, you go to the wall."

Anneka Rice is the co-host, and among the presentations is a special Radio Times readers award, decided by a phone vote.
