Arabian Fantasy

on BBC One London

David Fanshawe has returned to the island of Bahrain in the Arabian Gulf, searching out the songs of the pearl divers - the traditional world - and combining them with the new sounds of modern Bahrain. This 'musical extravaganza', based on the LP and book Arabian Fantasy, follows Fanshawe's 'work-in-progress ' -a sequel to African Sanctus, recently the subject of an Omnibus BBC film.
