Cross Question

on BBC One London

Was Jesus God or Man? with Paul Johnson and Don Cupitt For over 1,500 years Christians have believed that Jesus was not just a prophet, but the Son of God. Last year seven Christians produced a book called The Myth of God Incarnate. In it they attacked this belief in Jesus's divinity as unhistorical and corrupt. Tonight one of the leading contributors to the book - THE REV DON CUPITT , Dean of Emmanuel College, Cambridge - defends his view against PAUL JOHNSON , journalist, author of A History of Christianity and believer in the traditional doctrine of the Incarnation.
