Birmingham v. London bicycle-polo match
The 500-yards sprint race
Commentary by Graham Walker
Athletics:
The Mile for the Bournville Cup
Commentary by Richard North from the Bournville Recreation
Ground, Birmingham
These sports are organised jointly by the Bournville Club and the Midland Counties Athletic and Cycling Club. There is always a high standard of competition, as may be expected of a meeting that has attracted such performers as Burleigh, Maxfield, Wooderson, Wyld, and Eales.
The three events to be described this afternoon are part of the return match between Birmingham and London at bicycle polo, the 500-yards bicycle scratch race, and the mile flat race for the Bournville
Cup, which should bring some fine running, since most of the front-rank British milers will be competing.
