Gramophone Records: The Golden Age

on Regional Programme London

View in Radio Times

Presented by P. G. Hurst
In the last three broadcasts a famous singer from the 'Golden Age ' has come to the microphone to talk about his or her contemporaries. Today a well-known broadcaster and arranger of individual gramophone record programmes is to speak of that great period, the memories and traditions of which he has done as much as anybody to keep alive.
He has a fine collection of rare and historical records, some of which listeners will hear this afternoon. But what he has to say will be as interesting as anything he plays, for he has a photographic memory for those interesting details of the musical past.
