Performing Verdi

on BBC Radio 3

Another programme in the series in which Rodney Milnes talks to distinguished performers about individual operas or roles. Today he talks to Edward Downes about
Verdi's Stiffelio, a failure in Trieste in 1850 and later revised by the composer under the title Aroldo. Downes has resurrected the score from an earlier version and the programme features excerpts from his Covent Garden production in 1993.
