News Summary; Mrs. Dale's Diary

on Light Programme

Mrs. Dale, the doctor's wife, records the daily happenings in the life of her family.
(Repeated on Wednesday at 11.16 a.m.)
Elsie spread gossip about the row between Maud French and Mrs. Freeman, hinting that while she was in Capri Mrs. Freeman did something very shocking. Mrs. Freeman threatened Elsie with full exposure of what happened at Guildford. Gwen's boys did not return home from school one day. For a long time they could not be found; eventually David remembered a cafe where he sometimes took them for ices, and found them there with Kate, who had been meeting them often on their way home from school. David was furiously angry with Kate. He didn't immediately tell Gwen who had been with the boys, but she guessed. Kate broke down at the cafe, and Vicky was called to take her home.
