Ways of Seeing

on BBC One London

(SFTA Award)
Another chance to see the award-winning series with writer and critic John Berger.
In this programme he analyses the images of advertising and publicity and shows how they relate to the tradition of oil painting - similarities of poses, moods, settings, relationships. Colour photography, like oil paint before it, can portray people and things in ways which make us want to envy the people or possess the things.
