MacMillan is composer/conductor'for the BBC Philharmonic, who he leads in a performance at London's Barbican Hall, featuring the colourful Violin Concerto of his teacher, John Casken. The concert also features three of MacMillan's own compositions: Britannia, Magnificat and Nunc
Dimittis and The Confession of Isobel Gowdie. Featuring violinist Daniel Hope and the BBC Singers. Presented by Verity Sharp. The concert is aiso broadcast on BBC Radio 3 from 8pm, part of a Composer Weekend focusing on MacMillan
