' Our Village '
' The Church'
Written for broadcasting by EDITH E. MACQUEEN , Ph.D.
Stanwellstead has settled down to work again after the Christmas holiday. In the bad weather Gaffer Brown cannot take his walks about the village as often as he likes.
This term Mr. Street, the farmer, will have something to say about his farm on the downs. You will meet the policeman and hear about his work, and also the gypsies who return to their camp on the common in the spring. If you're lucky you may even hear a talk by the Gypsy King.
Today your old friend the vicar is to tell you about the great church that stands at the top of the hill.
