Peter Erskine Ensemble
Jazz on 3 's contribution to this year's BBC Music Live festival is the premiere of a new large-scale work by drummer Peter Erskine. Commissioned by Radio 3, Music for Brass and Percussion is an hour-long suite featuring some of the world's top improvisers, including reeds player Marty Ehrlich , trumpeter Kenny Wheeler and pianist John Taylor. The programme opens with a set by Erskine's trio with Ehrlich and bassist Michael Formanek.
