On 28 September 1965, 19-year-old US marine Robert Garwood is captured by the Viet Cong. For more than a decade, he plays the Viet Cong at their own game and bears the brunt of their cruelty to protect his fellow prisoners. Finally released, his nightmare continues when he is branded a traitor by the American people.
