on National Programme Daventry

View in Radio Times

A running commentary by John Snagge from the launch Magician, following the crews
John Snagge , expert broadcaster and prince of boat-race commentators, will have with him in the launch two expert oarsmen whom he may call upon at any moment-To A. Brocklebank , who stroked the Cambridge boat to victory three years in succession, and E. G. Tomlin , who rowed for Oxford in 1935. Another expert broadcaster in Thomas Woodrooffe will be on the roof of Harrod's warehouse to tell listeners the distance between the boats, a distance which those in the launch behind can only guess at.
