Meals on Wheels
If you've ever munched a British Rail bacon butty on a 125, spare a thought for those very early passengers who ate their own food in an open-topped carriage, 150 years ago, on the newly-opened Liverpool to Manchester Railway. Today travellers are under cover - but has the food changed? Mark reports from the National Railway Museum in York and investigates Meals on Wheels from the Victorian picnic hamper to five-star luxury.
