home for over 40 years, and for him the city is a source of constant inspiration and frustration. In this fourth lecture, he advocates a variety of ways to make London a better place to live. Among his ideas are the use of derelict sites for new building, the liberation of major public spaces from traffic and a rejuvenation of the Thames as the symbolic heart of capital.
