Since its formation in 1946, the Dutch Radio Philharmonic Sextet, composed of members of the Hilversum Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, has given many concerts and broadcasts in Holland, Belgium, and France. Besides including much classical music in its programmes, the Sextet has given a number of first performances in Holland of works by British, Belgian, French, Danish, Swiss, and Dutch composers. In April 1952, the Sextet gave two concerts in London: one of British, and one of Dutch music. Last November the ensemble broadcast in this country for the first time.
