With Jez Nelson. Czechoslovakia has a long history of jazz, producing international players like Miroslav Vitous and Jan Hammer. This week Jazz on 3 visits the EBU Jazz Festival in Karlovy Vary to celebrate the best of European jazz with a selection of music and interviews. Tonight's concert features tenor saxophonist Denys Baptiste, who performs music from his debut CD Be Where You Are with his ensemble: Larry Bartley on bass, 21-year-old pianist Andrew McCormack and 19-year-old drummer Tom Skinner.
