A Very Hospitable Person

on BBC Radio 3

by Malcolm Bradbury

Malcolm Bradbury sets his first radio play in a ranch-house in Massachusetts. Glenn and Cathy entertain an English couple, Richard and Lila. Cathy does not look forward to the event ('You know English people don't talk'), but is determined to play a familiar social game. The play depicts the personal and cultural clashes and couplings possible within the rules of that game.Â

with Charles Tingwell as Glenn, Carolyn Jones as Cathy, Paul Chapman as Richard, Carol Snape as Lila

(from Birmingham)

(Charles Tingwell is in 'There's a Girl in My Soup' at the Comedy Theatre, London)
