' The View from Roseberry Topping on the Cleveland Hills '
Roseberry is the only mountain in the Clevelands., and is a landmark for sailors coming to the Tees. You can see from it two distinct aspects of the landscape — natural and industrial. J. Fairfax-Blakeborough will tell you of the country itself, of its people, and of the natural history, and G. H. J. Daysh will talk particularly about the development of Middlesbrough over the delta of the Tees. The Tees, of course, is peculiar among the rivers of the north-east coast in having such a delta. The others reach the sea in steep-sided valleys.
Captain Cook spent his boyhood at the farm just under Roseberry. There is a holy well there, too, where they say a royal prince was drowned.
