A film made for television starring Carol Burnett Ned Beatty
Sam Waterston
On 4 September 1969
Sergeant Michael Mullen left his family's Iowa farm, bound for Vietnam. He returned on 1 March 1970 in a US Army issue silver-grey casket. His parents were informed that their son's death was attributed to 'friendly fire', a non-combatant death resulting from fire from his own forces. Unsatisfied at this explanation, they began a personal crusade to uncover the truth behind the official government version.
