Three Lions: 1986-2000

on BBC One London

The last of three films for the run-up to Euro 2000.

Italia 90 saw the rebirth of English football as the team reached the semi-finals but lost in a penalty shoot-out to Germany amid a flood of tears from Paul Gascoigne. Subsequently England were hosts for the emotive Euro 96 tournament, when Germany again proved to be the nemesis of the three lions. Gascoigne, Graham Taylor and Alan Shearer are among those reliving the highs and lows of 1986-98. (S)
