The Other Half

on BBC One London

with John Pitman
Last of six love stories about people in the public eye and the partners who share their private lives. Victor and Marilyn
Since 1971 Victor Lownes , the 55-year-old former boss of Playboy, has had an on-off affair with retired bunny Marilyn Cole , 20 years younger. For the past two years, however, they have been faithful and now there is even talk of marriage (remember, you read it here first).
For Marilyn, who used to work at the Co-op in Portsmouth, it's a bit like a modern Cinderella story. An estate in Hertfordshire, a house in Chelsea and a millionaire who keeps her in a style to which she wasn't accustomed.
Life is a cabaret for the girl who made history as the first full frontal centre-fold. The future, too, looks bright. Victor recently changed his will. 'I thought about my responsibility to Marilyn - so she is now an heiress.' Does she ever feel like a kept woman? 'Oh no, I don't.' says Marilyn, 'he doesn't give me enough money ...'
