The Electric Shock. This spring the price of electricity will rise by 2 per cent and the Electricity Boards profits should double to Y750 million. The increase, wished by the Government on a reluctant industry, has caused a Cabinet row and an investigation by a Parliamentary select committee-for it is said that it is a tax on electricity and bears hardest on the poorest.
