The story is set in Hummingbird Hill, a typical American suburban community where everybody knows a little more than a little about everybody. Mr. and Mrs. King advertise for a baby-sitter to look after their three noisy children. Lynn Belvedere who applies for the job turns out to be a mysterious yet dignified male genius who hates suburban life and children
