Basil and Julie are a young married couple. Because of the housing problem they have to live with Basil's parents at their home in Dunmow, Essex. Complications arise when the family decide to solve their domestic problems by engaging the services of a Hungarian maid. Marta turns out to be rather more than they bargained for. Whether it is deliberate or not is uncertain, but she soon captivates every male within miles, and Julie is decidedly worried about Marta's effect on her husband...
