The Albert Hall organ is the second largest in the country (the largest is in Liverpool's Anglican Cathedral) but it is by no means merely a late Victorian monster. It has a wide variety of orchestrally evocative stops (ideal for performing Liszt's Variations on a theme of Bach in tonight's concert) which allow it to achieve far more than just sheer volume.'
