Songs of Praise

on BBC One London

To celebrate the city's new Archbishop, Songs of Praise comes from Canterbury this week. Following his enthronement on Friday, the Most Rev George Carey - now the 103rd Archbishop of Canterbury - joins the crowds outside Canterbury Cathedral who have gathered to greet him and sing his selection of favourite hymns. As well as revealing his choice of music, the Archbishop talks candidly about his faith and his hopes for the future. Martyn Lewis introduces the celebrations and meets members of the crowd - some of whom have walked all the way from
London in the steps of the pilgrims featured in Chaucer's Canterbury Tales.
