David Niven introduces a season of famous British films of the War, being shown for the first time on television.
Tonight starring Stewart Granger John Mills , Alastair Sim with Joy Shelton
With her husband Jim away in the Army, Tillie Colter ic lonely and unhappy living in cramped conditions with her mother-in-law, the latter's two daughters, Ruby and Vera, and Tom Mason , a lodger. Then Tillie falls in with Ted Purvis , the local lady-killer and king of the pin-table saloons round the Waterloo Road.
