Mr. DESMOND MACCARTHY : ' The Poetry of Reality—Wordsworth '
This is the last of Mr. MacCarthy's re-introductions of famous books and authors to the present generation. Tonight he will discuss Wordsworth's long autobiographical poem-' The Prelude.' It is a poem of youth, written between 1793 and 1805, unclouded by the sedate moralising that obscured Wordsworth's later reputation: Rich in the descriptive beauty and exultant love of Nature that are his peculiar contributions to the heritage of English poerty.
