by Wilfrid Parry (pianoforte)
Wilfrid Parry studied at the Trinity College of Music, where he won the Chappell Gold Medal and was awarded a Fellowship for solo playing at the age of seventeen. After he had finished his studies he joined the teaching staff of Trinity College, but resigned after a few years to devote all his time to playing. A member of Gershom Parkington's Quintet, he has also appeared many times before the microphone as a soloist and in sonata recitals and chamber concerts. Many listeners will remember that in December, 1936, Mr. Parry gave the first broadcast performance with the BBC Orchestra of Haydn Wood's Piano Concerto.
