Buckfast Abbey is one of Devon's major tourist attractions, yet the monks maintain their centuries-old tradition of prayer, work and study. As local Christians join them to sing familiar Advent hymns, Ian Gall discovers one monk who teaches football to schoolboys, a Dutch organ builder and a club for training teenagers to survive the rigours of Dartmoor.
