BBC Proms 2002: First Night of the Proms

Live from the Royal Albert Hall in London, the 108th season is launched with a colourful First Night Fiesta. This year's Spanish theme is reflected in music by Chabrier and Lalo, and Puerto Rican composer Roberto Sierra's new work based on an 18th-century fandango receives its UK premiere. Walton's centenary celebrations at the Proms begin with his cantata depicting the fall of Babylon. Presented by Stephanie Hughes.
