A look ahead to some of the programmes to be seen in the new season on BBC 1.
Among the promised drama highlights are David Jason in a wartime robbery caper, Dawn French's debut in a serious role, Billy Connolly as a Glaswegian villain, and Alec Guinness , Lauren Bacall , Jeanne Moreau and Leo McKern in a nostalgic comedy. Ian Richardson returns in a sequel to House of Cards, while Michael Elphick stars as ex-Fleet Street hack Harry.
