THE LONG MAN AND BLUEBELL THE WONDER COW

on BBC Home Service Basic

The Long Man of Wilmington, Sussex, is believed by some to be a Celtic fertility god. Facing him across the valley at Warren Farm is a herd of cows of whom the most famous was Bluebell, who lived for nearly thirty-three years and had thirty-two calves. Could the Long Man have exercised any influence on this remarkable herd of cows?
