at the Organ of the Empress
Ballroom, Blackpool in a programme of dance music
The many ' fans ' of Horace Finch will welcome this broadcast by the organist whose popularity has been compared with that of the other famous Blackpool organist-broadcaster, Reginald Dixon. Finch is a Lancashire man, born at St. Helens thirty-two years ago. At the age of nine he was a church organist in his native town ; he came to Blackpool when he was thirteen. Formerly pianist in the Tower Ballroom, he was appointed organist at the Empress when the new organ was installed there in 1935.
