Vision On: Magic

on BBC One London

A fortnightly programme in which pictures speak louder than words.
Introduced for deaf children by Pat Keysell.

Robert Harbin assisted by some young friends shows magic in the studio

Three Little Wizards
A cartoon film from Poland.
and
The Sorcerer's Apprentice
An old story told in dancing by The British Dance-Drama Group.

Magic is a word guaranteed to light a spark in almost anyone's eyes - and tonight "Vision On" provides a threefold programme on this tricky subject. Apart from Robert Harbin and the Polish cartoon film, the ever-popular old story "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" will be told in dance form. Gerard Bagley, director of the British Dance-Drama Theatre Group, dances the apprentice who, in the absence of the Master Sorcerer, thinks that he is cleverer than he is and casts a spell over his broom to do his cleaning. The spell is all too successful and the apprentice is nearly swept away by the resulting whirlpool.
