Songs of Praise

on BBC One London

Festival 85
The second of two special programmes celebrating the best of hymns, both ancient and modern. This week we reveal the best eight new hymns, selected by a distinguished panel of judges, from hundreds of entries to the festival. The venue is St James's Church, Piccadilly, in the heart of London. Designed by Sir Christopher Wren and completed in 1684, it's been the site of many first performances.
Sally Magnusson introduces tonight's programme from St James's and talks to the winners.
