with the Salvation Army
This year the Salvation Army celebrates 100 years of its Goodwill Services, which were originally started to meet the needs of the poor in the Victorian slums.
Sally Magnusson meets members of the Salvation Army who continue that tradition in today's inner cities. They include
CAPTAIN PAT CHARLESWORTH, who runs the Notting Hill centre in London, and PAM RIDGERS who uses her wheelchair to raise funds. Salvationists from all over London join together in praise at the Regent Hall in Oxford Street, London, accompanied by the Corps Band.
To God be the glory: How much more?: Rescue the perishing; My me must be Christ's broken bread
(Spohr); Onward Christian soldiers (St Gertrude); Take my life and let it be (Consecration Hymn); I'll go m the strength of the Lord Conductor
