BBC Proms 2007

on BBC Radio 3

Introduced live from the Royal Albert Hall in London by Sarah Walker. American conductor Robert Spano makes his Proms debut in Stravinsky's ballet score Petrushka, and the dance continues with Bernstein's racy urban high jinks and Gershwin's jazz Rhapsody, complete with free improvisation from Marcus Roberts and his Trio.

Tom Service looks back to these landmarks of televised music education with help from people close to Bernstein, including his daughter Jamie.
