This concert celebrates the centenary of Poulenc's birth with the work that shot him to international fame - Les Biches - Diaghilev's production of which was given in Monte Carlo in 1924. Also included are the beautiful wartime cantata Un Soir de Neige and a work which reflects the power and sincerity of his faith - the Stabat Mater. Given on Saturday in the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester.
