Here and Now: The Cell from Hell

on BBC One London

Continuing the current-affairs series presented by Juliet Morris

A look at the micro-organism Pfiesteria, which lurks in microscopic plants and has now reached the North Sea. Capable of taking on a variety of forms, it kills fish by the billion and attacks the nervous systems of people who come into contact with the water. Pfiesteria originated in the waters of eastern America and marine experts fear that it is set to be a ticking time bomb for the British fishing industry.
