Bea is one of the four children of The Rev Hardy, and is the one who identifies most passionately with her father's Victorian attitudes to both women and the Church. However, the year is 1910 and the Suffragette movement is gathering force, and Bea finds herself involved in the conflict which is about to disrupt the social order.
