Abridged in seven episodes by PAT MCLOUGHLIN

Rosemary Sutcliff was, as a child, a victim of Still's disease (juvenile arthritis) which curtailed her life physically. That she lived all the more intensely through her imagination is clear from these memoirs and from the many historical novels she has produced in adult life.
