Fellow of Oriel College, Oxford introduces a programme of readings from unpublished letters written from India by Hardinge and his two sons, Charles and Arthur. These were sent during the period of Hardinge's Governor-Generalship of India (1844-48) to his wife, Lady Emily, who had been obliged for health reasons to remain at home.
