Harry Viner,'The Kosher King of Komedy', and Clara Abbott, the daughter of a northern theatre owner, have run away to London. With little prospect of work, Harry has visited Poverty Corner. Then, just as their careers seem about to take off, Clara announces that she is expecting a child.
