Proms 75: Part 1

on BBC Radio 3

Direct from the Royal Albert Hall, London

Clifford Curzon (piano)
National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, leader Paul Mayes, conducted by Christopher Seaman

Sir Lennox Berkeley says:
'The extraordinarily high standard of our National Youth Orchestra is well known, and it is very pleasing to find them playing once more in a Prom season. They, like the Proms, have deservedly become something of a national institution. They could hardly find a more distinguished soloist than Clifford Curzon: I regard him as the greatest English pianist of his generation who can be heard today.'
