Simon Mayo tells me that his mother was once the assistant producer of Top of the Form so he's following family quiz-steps when he hosts the grand final of its Radio 1 name-alike Pop of the Form (Sunday 3.00). The quality of this year's contestants has, says Simon, been mind-boggling.
'They're so fast and they know so much. They're either computer-brained or they've got photographic memories!"
