Programmes charting the traditional jazz revival in Britain that began in the late 40s, Alyn Shipton concentrates on the trumpeter Ken Colyer. Colyer rejoined the Merchant Navy in 1952 simply to get to New Orleans and hear the ftusic first hand.
Among the numbers his 'Jazzmen' recorded Were Isle of Capri,
Gatemouth and St Philip Street Breakdown, which featured the American clarinettist George Lewis. Mono
